It's a girl! : : September 8, 2010

No, not that kind of girl. We got a puppy girl. Her name is Serena and she is the sweetest ball of fur you've ever seen. Her mom is an Australian Shepherd and her dad is a Newfoundland or at least part Newfoundland. She has the webbed feet and long black hair of her father and tan markings from her mom.

We found Serena on Pet Finder. She was in Fenton, MI. She was living in a foster home with her 7 siblings and her mother. I took a 1/2 day off of work and we drove up to see her. We weren't expecting to take her home with us so we brought the digital camera to get pictures. Fortunately, we were able to bring her home with us. The car ride was fairly uneventful except that her dinner decided it was time to re-visit the outside world. Fortunately it was mostly undigested so it wasn't too difficult to clean up. Following that incident she slept most of the way home.

Serena and Bella are becoming fast friends. Serena loves to follow Bella around and she imitates everything that she sees Bella do. Sometimes she's still too small so she looks silly but she's learning fast how to go potty outside, how to climb stairs and how to get attention and loving anytime she wants. Serena's first photos are up on the website now and we'll be continuing to add more as she grows.
