Web-CP.net : : September 6, 2010 |
| Well, a few months ago I started a website called Web-CP.net to continue development on a control panel called web://cp. The official site used to be located at webcp.can-host.com. It seems to have disappeared (it's been gone for a few weeks so it may be permanent). So, that means that my site is just about the closest thing to an official web://cp website there is. Our discussion boards are located at here: web://cp and FlexCP Discussion Forums. This is kind of exciting for me. I have been doing the primary development and maintenance of the FAQ and Manual for the last couple months and now I'm in charge of the web://cp discussion forums. Basically, I've kinda ended up in charge of the entire web://cp project and will be creating a 0.5.3RC1 soon. For those who don't know, it means that I will be choosing what code to release as a "stable" release and what code not to. I will basically be in charge of what goes on in the project. I am trying not to burden myself with too much work on it and I also want to ensure that if something were to happen to me, everything would be available to be set up on a new server by someone else. I wouldn't want it to be like what happened with the original official website where it just disappeared and all the data on the forums was lost. At the same time, it is neat being in charge of the entire open source web://cp project right now. It is licensed under the GPL so that means it is free to use and free to distribute. We'll have to see where things go in the next few months. |
